Van Alstyne Panthers (Van Alstyne, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Dodd City Hornets (Dodd City, TX), 34-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Van Alstyne upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Sanger (Sanger, TX) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 9-8. Sanger won 29-26 in their recent non-league bout against Bosqueville (Waco, TX)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the Nocona Indians (Nocona, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Dodd City will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 14-0 record after their 60-36 non-league win over Saint Jo (Saint Jo, TX).
