The Vega Longhorns basketball team (Vega, TX), was nudged 43-42 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Liberty Patriots (Lubbock, TX)
The Patriots now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Childress for a 3A Region I District 2 battle on Friday, December 15. Liberty will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 49-48 league loss to Slaton (Slaton, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 6-15.
The Longhorns (5-11) will now prepare for their battle against Dalhart (Dalhart, TX). The Wolves come into the non-league bout with a 4-3 record. In their last bout, Dalhart was edged by Ozona (Ozona, TX), 45-40, in a non-league bout.
