The Highland Park Scots (Topeka, KS) basketball nipped the host Emporia Spartans (Emporia, KS), 55-53 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Scots (12-2) will now prepare for their test against Seaman (Topeka, KS). The Vikings go into the Centennial test with a 7-8 record. In their last test, Seaman was tipped by Junction City (Junction City, KS), 66-64, in a league test.
The Spartans now own a 2-13 record. They play next when they travel to Topeka for a non-league test on Friday, February 4. Emporia will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 69-56 non-league win over Manhattan (Manhattan, KS). The Trojans record now stands at 3-11.
