Iowa High School Basketball - Mason City knocked off by Ames

The Ames Little Cyclones basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Mason City Mohawks to 47 in the Little Cyclones non-league triumph on Friday.

The Little Cyclones now sport a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Dowling Catholic for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 11. Ames will battle a Maroons team coming off a 58-42 league loss to Urbandale (Urbandale, IA). The Maroons record now stands at 6-8.

The Mohawks (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 5-18 record. In their last contest, Ottumwa was defeated by Des Moines East (Des Moines, IA), 63-60, in a non-league contest.
