Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), 59-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Montgomery Central upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Timberwolves host Central Davidson (Lexington, NC) to play the Spartans in a 3A Conference 47 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 9-14. Central Davidson lost 62-39 in their recent league bout against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC)

Next up, the Blue Comets play the North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC) in a 3A Conference 47 bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Asheboro will attempt to upgrade on its 4-20 season record. The Black Knights go into the bout with a 15-9 record after their 49-37 league loss to Ledford (Thomasville, NC).
