Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL), 61-58 in a league match.
With the victory, Illini Central advances its record to 14-12 on the year. The Cougars travel to Athens (Athens, IL) to face the Warriors in a Sangamo match on Friday, February 14. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 12-16. Athens lost 66-34 in their recent league match against Riverton (Riverton, IL)
The Spartans now own a 8-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pleasant Plains for a Sangamo match on Friday, February 14. Olympia will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 67-63 league win over PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 16-10.
