Mississippi High School Softball - Pisgah gets by Newton County

The Pisgah Dragons (Sandhill, MS) softball nipped the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), 2-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Dragons (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Union (Union, MS). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Union was edged by Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS), 10-0, in a non-league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Clinton for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 19. Newton County will confront a Arrows squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Puckett (Puckett, MS). The Arrows record now stands at 0-1.
