In Thursday's non-league outing, the Ash Grove Pirates (Ash Grove, MO) basketball squad edged the host Greenwood Blue Jays (Springfield, MO), by a margin of 41-40.
The Pirates (1-8) will now prepare for their outing against Marionville (Marionville, MO). The Comets go into the Southwest outing with a 16-6 record. In their last outing, Marionville held off Pierce City (Pierce City, MO), 60-51, in a league outing.
The Blue Jays now own a 6-13 record. They play next when they travel to Crane for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 7.
