Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Augusta Christian Lions (Martinez, GA), 50-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hammond upgrades its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Skyhawks travel to Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC) to play the Cardinals in a SCISA AAAA Region I bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Cardinal Newman won 70-44 in their recent league bout against Ben Lippen (Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Lions play the Ben Lippen Falcons (Columbia, SC) in a SCISA AAAA Region I bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Augusta Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 8-14 record after their 70-44 league loss to Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC).
