Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Winthrop Ramblers (Winthrop, ME), 49-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mountain Valley upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Poland (Poland, ME) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Poland won 34-22 in their recent non-league bout against Oak Hill (Sabattus, ME)

Next up, the Ramblers play the Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Phoenix come into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 52-43 non-league win over Madison (Madison, ME).
