New Boston Lions (New Boston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Queen City Bulldogs (Queen City, TX), 59-54 in a league bout.

With the win, New Boston upgrades its record to 10-16 on the season. The Lions travel to Hooks (Hooks, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region II District 14 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 26-5. Hooks won 55-52 in their recent league bout against De Kalb (De Kalb, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Pewitt Brahmas (Omaha, TX) in a 3A Region II District 14 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Queen City will attempt to upgrade on its 17-11 season record. The Brahmas go into the bout with a 3-19 record after their 71-13 league loss to Atlanta (Atlanta, TX).
