Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX) and the host Orange Grove Bulldogs (Orange Grove, TX), witnessed Gregory-Portland's softball squad tip Orange Grove by a count of 11-6.

The Wildcats now sport a 8-3 record. They play next when they travel to Carroll for a 5A Region IV District 29 match on Tuesday, March 1. Gregory-Portland will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Cypress Woods (Cypress, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Orange Grove moves to 0-7 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Gonzales (Gonzales, TX) to meet the Apaches in a non-league match on Thursday, March 3. The Apaches go into the match with a record of 6-3. Gonzales won 10-7 in their recent non-league match against Giddings (Giddings, TX)
