Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX), 43-38 in a league bout.
With the victory, Pace upgrades its record to 22-10 on the campaign. The Vikings host Mercedes (Mercedes, TX) to play the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 16-15. Mercedes won 97-42 in their recent league bout against Donna North (Donna, TX)
Next up, the Chargers play the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Veterans Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 18-12 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a 12-22 record after their 52-39 league loss to Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX).
