Butternut Midgets (Butternut, WI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Washburn Castle Guards (Washburn, WI), 64-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, Butternut upgrades its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Midgets host Bayfield (Bayfield, WI) to play the Trollers in a Northern Lights bout on Thursday, February 8. The Trollers come into the bout with a record of 0-16. Bayfield lost 36-29 in their recent league bout against Mercer (Mercer, WI)

Next up, the Castle Guards play the Drummond Lumberjacks (Drummond, WI) in a Northern Lights bout, on Thursday, February 8. Washburn will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Lumberjacks come into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 47-42 league loss to South Shore (Port Wing, WI).
