In Wednesday's league contest, the visiting Newport Wildcats basketball team scored a big 69-46 win over the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds.
The Wildcats (14-8) will now prepare for their contest against Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY). The Colonels come into the non-league contest with a 17-6 record. In their last contest, Covington Catholic smashed Ryle (Union, KY), 66-57, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Thoroughbreds battle the Holy Cross Indians (Covington, KY) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, February 8. Newport Central Catholic will attempt to better on its 10-13 season record. The Indians come into the contest with a 11-8 record after their 78-55 league loss to Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY).
