The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Syracuse Bulldogs (Syracuse, KS) and the host Deerfield Spartans (Deerfield, KS), observed Syracuse's basketball team knock off Deerfield by a score of 44-27.

The Bulldogs (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Greeley County (Tribune, KS). The Jackrabbits come into the non-league challenge with a 6-9 record. In their last challenge, Greeley County was knocked off by Decatur Community (Oberlin, KS), 40-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Pawnee Heights Tigers (Rozel, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 11. Deerfield will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 64-38 league win over Satanta (Satanta, KS).
