The Hammond Tornadoes softball team scored 24 runs and held the visiting Independence Tigers to 6 in the Tornadoes non-league win on Wednesday.

The Tornadoes now possess a 2-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Central Private for a non-league battle on Friday, March 14. Hammond will confront a Redhawks team coming off a 9-4 league win over Slaughter Community Charter (Slaughter, LA). The Redhawks record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Independence moves to 1-5 on the season. The Tigers host Livonia (Livonia, LA) to confront the Wildcats in a non-league battle on Thursday, March 13. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 3-7. Livonia lost 25-17 in their recent non-league battle against Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, LA)
