The Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) baseball trounced the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 13-2 in Monday's league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they host East Henderson for a Mountain Seven 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 25. Tuscola will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 10-8 non-league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-8.

With the defeat, Smoky Mountain drops to 7-3 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC) to clash with the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 26. The Bearcats go into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Hendersonville lost 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Chase (Forest City, NC)
