California High School Baseball - Ventura nips Rio Mesa

March 25, 2022: Ventura, CA 93001

Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA), 3-2 in a league test.

With the win, Ventura upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Cougars host Foothill Tech (Ventura, CA) to battle the Dragons in a non-league test on Saturday, March 26. The Dragons come into the test with a record of 4-10. Foothill Tech won 1-0 in their recent non-league test against Hueneme (Oxnard, CA)

With the defeat, Rio Mesa falls to 6-10 on the season. The Spartans host Buena (Ventura, CA) to battle the Bulldogs in a Pacific View test on Tuesday, March 29. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 10-2. Buena won 6-1 in their recent league test against Oxnard (Oxnard, CA)
