Illinois High School Baseball - Massac County holds off Pope County

March 25, 2025: Metropolis, IL 62960

The Massac County Patriots baseball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Pope County Pirates to 1 in the Patriots non-league win on Tuesday.

The Patriots now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sparta for a non-league test on Friday, March 28. Massac County will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 13-4 non-league win over Dupo (Dupo, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-2.

With the defeat, Pope County drops to 1-4 on the year. The Pirates travel to Century (Ullin, IL) to clash with the Centurions in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 26. The Centurions go into the test with a record of 1-2. Century lost 10-8 in their recent non-league test against Goreville (Goreville, IL)
