Dawson Eagles (Pearland, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Liberty Panthers (Liberty, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 16-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Nederland for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. Dawson will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Grand Oaks (Spring, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Liberty falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Magnolia West (Magnolia, TX) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 12-4. Magnolia West won 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Hargrave (Huffman, TX)
