The Cooper Cougars softball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Gatesville Hornets to 3 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Cooper moves its record to 2-7 on the year. The Cougars travel to Abilene (Abilene, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A Region I District 4 game on Tuesday, March 12. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 11-9. Abilene lost 3-2 in their recent league game against Wylie (Abilene, TX)

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Brownwood Lions (Brownwood, TX) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, March 12. Gatesville will attempt to move on its 12-10 season record. The Lions come into the game with a 3-7 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX).
