The Watauga Pioneers smashed the visiting South Caldwell Spartans soccer team by a tally of 7-0 in Tuesday's league game.

Next, the Pioneers face the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Friday, April 4. Watauga will attempt to advance on its 4-3 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 2-3 record after their 1-0 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).

The Spartans (6-3) will now prepare for their game against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots enter the Northwestern 3A/4A game with a 5-6 record. In their last game, Freedom was overwhelmed by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 7-0, in a league game.
