In Thursday's non-league game, the host Brooke Bruins baseball team scored a tight 13-12 victory over the Martins Ferry Purple Riders.
The Bruins (2-7) will now prepare for their game against Union Local (Belmont, OH). The Jets go into the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Union Local was edged by Cambridge (Cambridge, OH), 11-4, in a league game.
The Purple Riders (7-1) will now prepare for their game against Monroe Central (Woodsfield, OH). The Seminoles go into the non-league game with a 3-2 record.
