Illinois High School Baseball - Southwestern gets by Vandalia

April 14, 2023: Piasa, IL 62079

Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), 6-4 in a league test.

With the win, Southwestern upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Piasa Birds travel to Freeburg (Freeburg, IL) to battle the Midgets in a non-league test on Saturday, April 15. The Midgets come into the test with a record of 6-9. Freeburg lost 5-0 in their recent league test against Columbia (Columbia, IL)

With the defeat, Vandalia falls to 3-7 on the season. The Vandals travel to Carlinville (Carlinville, IL) to play the Cavaliers in a South Central battle on Friday, April 21. The Cavaliers enter the battle with a record of 10-0.
