Hughes Springs Mustangs (Hughes Springs, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Ore City Rebels (Ore City, TX), 10-1 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 21-2 record. They take the field next when they host Gladewater for a 3A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. Hughes Springs will face a Bears squad coming off a 11-4 league win over New Diana (Diana, TX). The Bears record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Ore City falls to 9-14 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to New Diana (Diana, TX) to face the Eagles in a 3A Region II District 15 challenge on Saturday, April 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-17. New Diana lost 11-4 in their recent league challenge against Gladewater (Gladewater, TX)
