Lake Central Indians (St. John, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Westfield Shamrocks (Westfield, IN), 12-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Merrillville for a Duneland challenge on Monday, April 17. Lake Central will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 10-6 non-league loss to Hammond Central (Hammond, IN). The Pirates record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Westfield falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Shamrocks host New Palestine (New Palestine, IN) to battle the Dragons in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. The Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. New Palestine won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Carmel (Carmel, IN)
