In Monday's league game, the host Melbourne Bearkatz baseball team scored a tight 5-4 victory over the Newport Greyhounds.
The Bearkatz (7-0) will now prepare for their game against Salem (Salem, AR). The Greyhounds go into the 2A Region 2 game with a 8-2 record. In their last game, Salem tipped Hoxie (Hoxie, AR), 22-10, in a league game.
The Greyhounds (1-3) will now prepare for their game against Cave City (Cave City, AR). The Cavemen go into the 3A Region 2 game with a 5-3 record. In their last game, Cave City was edged by Melbourne (Melbourne, AR), 10-0, in a league game.
