The Ashbrook Greenwave overwhelmed the host Chambers Cougars softball squad by a count of 23-5 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Greenwave meet the Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC) in a Big South 5A/6A challenge, on Tuesday, April 28. Ashbrook will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Mountaineers go into the challenge with a 18-3 record after their 14-3 league win over North Gaston (Dallas, NC).
The Cougars (3-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC). The Mavericks go into the Meck Power Six 7A/8A challenge with a 3-12 record. In their last challenge, Mallard Creek was routed by Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC), 14-1, in a non-league challenge.
