West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Millburn Millers (Millburn, NJ), 9-0 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 2-11 record. They take the field next when they host Verona for a SEC - Liberty challenge on Friday, April 26. West Essex will battle a Hillbillies squad coming off a 11-9 non-league win over Payne Tech (Newark, NJ). The Hillbillies record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Millburn falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Millers host Newark Academy (Livingston, NJ) to battle the Minutemen in a SEC - Liberty challenge on Friday, April 26. The Minutemen enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Newark Academy lost 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NJ)
