Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bloomington Central Catholic Saints (Bloomington, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Ironmen now own a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Danville for a Big Twelve challenge on Thursday, April 27. Normal Community will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 6-3 non-league loss to Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Bloomington Central Catholic falls to 12-10 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Monticello (Monticello, IL) to battle the Sages in a Illini Prairie challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Sages enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Monticello won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Urbana (Urbana, IL)
