In Wednesday's league game, the host Rye Garnets baseball team scored a close 8-2 win over the Suffern Mounties.
The Garnets (10-4) will now prepare for their game against Eastchester (Eastchester, NY). The Eagles go into the Section 1 Conference 2 - D game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, Eastchester nudged Edgemont (Scarsdale, NY), 11-1, in a non-league game.
Next, the Mounties play the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) in a non-league game, on Thursday, April 30. Suffern will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Goldbacks go into the game with a 2-11 record after their 7-2 non-league loss to Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY).
