South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 16-11 in a league test.

With the win, South Caldwell upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to battle the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, April 5. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 12-4. Watauga won 17-2 in their recent league test against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)

With the defeat, Hibriten falls to 4-9 on the season. The Panthers travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to battle the Patriots in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Wednesday, April 5. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 3-10. Freedom lost 12-0 in their recent league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
