The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL) and the visiting Peoria Christian Chargers (Peoria, IL), saw Eureka's softball squad nip Peoria Christian by a count of 10-4.

The Hornets now sport a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Huntley for a non-league match on Saturday, April 8. Eureka will face a Red Raiders squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Prairie Ridge (Crystal Lake, IL). The Red Raiders record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Peoria Christian falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Chargers host Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL) to face the Wildcats in a non-league match on Friday, April 7. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 1-5. Cuba/Spoon River Valley won 12-0 in their recent non-league match against West Prairie (Sciota, IL)
