Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns (Vista, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Scripps Ranch Falcons (San Diego, CA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Rancho Bernardo for a Coastal North County challenge on Friday, April 7. Rancho Buena Vista will battle a Broncos squad coming off a 4-2 league win over San Marcos (San Marcos, CA). The Broncos record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, Scripps Ranch falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Falcons host Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 8. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. Granite Hills lost 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA)
