In Thursday's league game, the visiting Western Panthers baseball team scored a close 7-1 victory over the Pennfield Panthers.
The Panthers (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Sturgis (Sturgis, MI). The Trojans enter the non-league game with a 0-6 record. In their last game, Sturgis was overwhelmed by Three Rivers (Three Rivers, MI), 14-0, in a league game.
Next, the Panthers face the Colon Magi (Colon, MI) in a non-league game, on Saturday, April 11. Pennfield will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Magi enter the game with a 2-0 record after their 7-3 non-league win over Camden-Frontier (Camden, MI).
