Kouts Mustangs & Fillies (Kouts, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Hammond Morton Governors (Hammond, IN), 10-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs & Fillies now own a 8-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Washington Township for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12. Kouts will face a Senators squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Hebron (Hebron, IN). The Senators record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, Hammond Morton falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Governors host Whiting (Whiting, IN) to face the Oilers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 12. The Oilers enter the challenge with a record of 3-13. Whiting lost 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Westville (Westville, IN)
