Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL), 15-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 30-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Anna-Jonesboro for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 17. Carterville will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-6 non-league win over Vienna (Vienna, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 20-11.

With the loss, Herrin falls to 8-21 on the campaign. The Tigers host Centralia (Centralia, IL) to battle the Orphans in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. The Orphans enter the challenge with a record of 7-16. Centralia lost 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL)
