The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) and the visiting Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL), saw Columbia's baseball team beat Litchfield by a margin of 9-2.

The Eagles (14-12) will now prepare for their battle against Highland (Highland, IL). The Bulldogs enter the non-league battle with a 14-12 record. In their last battle, Highland was overwhelmed by Triad (Troy, IL), 11-3, in a league battle.

Next, the Purple Panthers face the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, May 17. Litchfield will attempt to improve on its 20-11 season record. The Griffins enter the battle with a 29-3 record after their 10-9 non-league win over Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL).
