Highland Bulldogs (Highland, IL) backers exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), 5-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Highland advances its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to clash with the Hiltoppers in a non-league test on Thursday, August 28. The Hiltoppers come into the test with a record of 2-0. Hillsboro won 8-1 in their recent non-league test against Taylorville (Taylorville, IL)

The Warriors now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Waterloo for a non-league bout on Monday, September 1. Granite City will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Mater Dei (Breese, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-0.
