    The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Salisbury Hornets (Salisbury, NC) and the host Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), observed Salisbury's football squad bounce Polk County by a tally of 44-0.

    The Hornets now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they host East Rowan for a non-league contest on Friday, September 3. Salisbury will play a Mustangs squad coming off a 28-6 non-league loss to North Stanly (New London, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-1.

    Coming up next, the Wolverines play the West Henderson Falcons (Hendersonville, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 3. Polk County will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Falcons go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 58-0 non-league loss to Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC).
