Mississippi High School Football - Velma Jackson held off by Canton

In Saturday's non-league game, the Canton Tigers (Canton, MS) football team tipped the visiting Velma Jackson Falcons (Camden, MS), by a final score of 14-12.

The Tigers (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Germantown (Madison, MS). The Mavericks come into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Germantown got by Vicksburg (Vicksburg, MS), 10-6, in a non-league game.

The Falcons now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Yazoo County for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Velma Jackson will battle a Panthers team coming off a 35-14 non-league loss to Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 0-1.
