Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) and the host Fairview Eagles (Ashland, KY), observed Boyd County's volleyball team hold off Fairview by a count of 2-1.

The Lions (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against East Carter (Grayson, KY). The Raiders go into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record.

The Eagles now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Carter for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2.
