The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) and the host Leake Academy Rebels (Madden, MS), observed Simpson Academy's softball team prevail over Leake Academy by a tally of 9-1.

The Cougars (12-1) will now prepare for their bout against Jackson Prep (Jackson, MS). The Patriots go into the non-league bout with a 0-0 record.

In their next game, the Rebels battle the Oak Hill Academy Raiders (West Point, MS) in a bout, on Monday, September 8. Leake Academy will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record.
