In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Fluvanna County Flying Flucos volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Godwin Eagles.

The Flying Flucos (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA). The Black Knights come into the Jefferson challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Charlottesville was nudged by Staunton (Staunton, VA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA) in a Colonial challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Godwin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 3-0 league win over Hermitage (Richmond, VA).
