In Saturday's non-league match, the Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC) volleyball squad overcame the visiting Lake Norman Wildcats (Mooresville, NC), by a count of 3-0.

Next up, the Whirlies battle the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles (Greensboro, NC) in a Metro 6A/7A match, on Tuesday, September 16. Grimsley will attempt to move on its 15-7 season record. The Golden Eagles enter the match with a 0-9 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Northeast Guilford (McLeansville, NC).

The Wildcats now own a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Rowan for a non-league battle on Monday, September 15. Lake Norman will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Concord (Concord, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-9.
