In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Jefferson Lions volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Warrenton Warriors.

The Lions (2-7) will now prepare for their test against Taft (Lincoln City, OR). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Taft nudged Willamina (Willamina, OR), 3-0, in a league test.

The Warriors now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Corbett for a 3A Coastal Range test on Tuesday, September 16. Warrenton will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Banks (Banks, OR). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-3.
