The Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI) volleyball held off the host Leland Comets (Leland, MI), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Lions now possess a 15-18 record. They play next when they travel to Beal City for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 14. Newaygo will clash with a Aggies team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Powers Catholic (Flint, MI). The Aggies record now stands at 9-2.
