North Carolina High School Football - Swain County defeats Avery County

In Thursday's non-league match, the host Swain County Maroon Devils football squad scored a nice 30-0 win over the Avery County Vikings.

With the win, Swain County advances its record to 5-0 on the season. The Maroon Devils travel to Cherokee (Cherokee, NC) to play the Braves in a non-league battle on Thursday, September 25. The Braves go into the battle with a record of 3-1. Cherokee won 22-6 in their recent non-league battle against Avery County (Newland, NC)

The Vikings now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Mitchell for a non-league match on Thursday, September 25. Avery County will confront a Mountaineers squad coming off a 22-20 non-league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 1-3.
