The Washburn Pirates volleyball team (Washburn, TN), was edged 3-2 in Monday's non-league challenge with the visiting Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN)

The Patriots (3-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Anderson County (Clinton, TN). The Mavericks come into the non-league challenge with a 20-14 record. In their last challenge, Anderson County was edged by Silverdale Academy (Chattanooga, TN), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates encounter the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders (Gatlinburg, TN) in a A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, September 20. Washburn will attempt to move on its 2-8 season record.
